The Booze - Hard Luck Woman
The first and only time I ever saw The Booze was last spring when they opened up for The Pipettes in Philly. Good opening bands are certainly far and few between, but The Booze totally caught my attention. They have this great retro sound of a garage band from the ‘60’s. They’re definitely influenced by The Kinks, The Rolling Stones and The Who. If I were to compare them to a more ‘contemporary’ band, I would go with The Strokes. Anyway, this song is the first track off Easy Beats in Modern Time, which I picked up at the show. This is one of those albums that I can listen to now and place where I was almost a year ago when I first started listening to it.
The Booze is from Georgia, and I was very stoked to find out that they are playing in NYC March 5 at Pianos. I’ll be there to check ‘em out again for sure. I’ll probably post another one of their songs later in the month. They’re also playing along the east coast… you can check out the dates on their Myspace
God, I’m such a music pimp
